Financing Your Paver Project: GreenSky & Lyon, Explained

By Jeff Lane, President

Can you finance a paver project?

Yes — and for a lot of Central Florida homeowners it's the practical answer to a real timing problem: hardscape is a durable, decades-long improvement, but its cost arrives all at once. Alliance Pavers offers two financing paths: the GreenSky® Program and a partnership with Lyon Financial. This article explains how each works, who each tends to suit, and how financing slots into the project timeline — plainly, because financing pages are usually where plain language goes to die. Full details and applications live on our financing page.

How does the GreenSky® Program work?

GreenSky is a home-improvement financing program used by contractors nationwide. The structure matters to understand: GreenSky itself isn't the lender — loans under the program are made by participating banks; ours are made by Synovus Bank (Member FDIC), with servicing by GreenSky Servicing, LLC. It's real bank lending under a program built specifically for projects like yours, with an application that's designed to be quick and can typically be completed around the time you're finalizing your proposal. All financing is subject to credit approval — nobody serious will promise otherwise.

Where GreenSky tends to fit: homeowners who want a streamlined, contractor-integrated path — apply, get a decision, and fold the financing into the same conversation as the project itself.

How does Lyon Financial work?

Lyon Financial is a specialty lender focused on pool and outdoor-living projects, and we partner with them for customers whose projects or preferences fit that lane. The headline difference is structure: Lyon arranges home-improvement loans with fixed rates and terms up to 20 years, which changes the monthly-payment math meaningfully on larger projects — a longer term trades total interest paid over the life of the loan for a lower, more predictable monthly number. Their process runs directly between you and Lyon: you apply with them, they walk you through options, and the approved funds pay for your project here.

Where Lyon tends to fit: bigger scopes — full outdoor living builds, pool deck and surround projects — where a long fixed term makes an ambitious project fit a monthly budget.

Which option should you choose?

There's no universal answer, but the honest decision framework is short:

  • Project size. Modest, contained projects lean toward the streamlined GreenSky path; large multi-element builds are where Lyon's up-to-20-year terms earn consideration.
  • Monthly payment vs. total cost. Longer terms lower the month and raise the lifetime interest; shorter terms do the reverse. Decide which number you're actually optimizing.
  • Your other options. A home-equity line or cash may beat both for your situation. We're paver contractors, not financial advisors — compare real offers, and take your time doing it.

What we can promise is what we control: the quote you're financing is free, itemized, and honest, and nobody here will pressure you into either program. (Both lenders publish their current rate and term details — always confirm the live numbers with them during application rather than relying on any article, including this one.)

When in the process should you apply?

Early — in parallel with your proposal, not after it. The rhythm that works: get your free quote first so you're financing a real number, apply while the paperwork and any HOA approval are in motion, and have the approval in hand before your installation date locks. Financing approval is one of the things we can wait on gracefully during step one of the project process; it's much less graceful as a surprise the week materials arrive. One more timing note: your 5-year workmanship warranty activates with prompt final payment within 15 days of completion — financed projects handle this exactly like cash ones, since the lender's funds settle your invoice.

The bottom line

GreenSky (bank loans by Synovus under a streamlined program) and Lyon Financial (fixed rates, terms up to 20 years, built for outdoor projects) are two legitimate ways to turn a decades-long improvement into a monthly number that fits. Pick based on project size and which math you're optimizing, apply early, and confirm current terms with the lender directly. Ready for the number to finance?
